        Mrs. Carrell's Class

During the week of August 22 - 26, 2016:

In Math, we will work with bar graphs and pictographs. We'll organize data to make it useful for interpreting and solving problems. Students will also learn some new fact fluency games, and work to build their understanding of basic addition and subtraction facts and their number sense. We will also practice some expectations for math stations, as we phase into small group guided reading.

In Science, we will learn about safety during classroom and outdoor science experiments and explorations. Students will also acquaint themselves with the use of basic science tools such as goggles, gloves, beakers, hand lenses, and others. Students will make their first hypothesis of the school year, and observe results and draw conclusions in an experiment on Friday.

My conference time is from 12:05 - 12:55 p.m.

I'm available before and after school on most days. Please feel free to contact me by email.

Second grade lunch is from 10:50 - 11:20 a.m. , and recess is from 11:20 - 11:50.

Students have P. E. on  Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays,
and Music, Art, or Computer Lab on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays.

Our library day is Thursday.

I teach Math and Science, and my partner, Mrs. Cordaway, teaches Reading, Writing, and Spelling. We both teach Social Studies.
